Clothe Her

Had a photoshoot last week for "Clothe Her" By Charlie Rose. A second hand clothing endevor by a friend and university mate of mine Mathabo Tlali. I'm not going to say too much about it because I have done a post on her before but I will say that I really liked the clothes and the new vibe that was introduced by mixing vintage with streetwear. I also appreciate the fact that there is freedom when it comes to the styling and make up so all usb "models" did our own make up and styling using some pieces of our own. It was lots of fun and the pictures came out pretty good. Here are three singular shots of me. Check out the "Clothe Her" page on facebook!

Accessories

Hi, All.
This post comes with a lot of excitement. My sister recently came back from a high school tour of Europe. Needless to say I was very happy to have her back especially because she came with such great goodies. They went to Italy, France and England and from my own experience I know that it is a life changing journey. Travel does that to you. Amongst some items of clothing which I will be wearing in some blog posts in the near future, she bought me some very chic accessories from H&M, Primark, Pimkie and Aldo. I cannot wait to make these part of my wardrobe, some of these items I've wanted for a very long time; the head chain and the bracelet connected to a ring. The bag(Mr. Price) and flower crown(A friend's thrift store) that you see I bought locally during my time at the Grahamstown Arts festival recently. How lovely is that chunky chain? Gotta love accessories.

Clothe Her

Throwback: Channeling Boom-Shaka

These pictures are from a photo shoot I did with some of the most beautiful young women at my university. It was for my friend Mathabo Tladi's vintage wear shop "Clothe Her By Charlie Rose". Mathabo is such a talented young lady and I always love hearing what she has to share. Se started this collection of 2nd hand and thrift store clothing this year in hopes of inspiring women to dress well so that they feel good about themselves. I have bought several items of clothing myself and I must say they are beautiful. On her facebook page she has featured 2 seasons of timeless clothing, modelled by students and the page is always buzzing with people wanting to more and wanting to know how she came up with this great idea. She has definitely made vintage more accessible and affordable for students. She is such and inspiration. Props to my girl Mathabo.

What I'm Wearing

Mad about Print
Taking inspiration from my style icon Solange, I designed and help make this African print blazer last year which is now one of  my favourite items in my wardrobe. This photo was taken in February(when it was still warm) by my photographer friend Lindsay Purdon of milkandcotten.tumblr.com. Also I still had my afro the which is now hidden by my braids. Being that it was a week day I wanted to be casual and comfortable so this is what I wore:
Tribal Print Blazer- self made
highwaisted denim shorts- thrift store
Rolling Stones T-shirt- Cotton on
Belt- thrift store
Pale Blue triangular earrings- thrift store
Round glasses- flea market
Shoes- Mr Price (very old may I add)

What I'm wearing

All Black Everythang. That NineZero Swagger.

On this day I woke up feeling quite glum and fittingly decided to wear all black. And also because I'm a proud 90's kid, I wanted to pay homage to this era and it's distinctive style.
Striped Pants: YDE
Black sheer top: Jay Jays
Leather Jacket: Melts
All Stars: Edgars
Turban: Thrift Shop
