What I'm Wearing

Mad about Print
Taking inspiration from my style icon Solange, I designed and help make this African print blazer last year which is now one of  my favourite items in my wardrobe. This photo was taken in February(when it was still warm) by my photographer friend Lindsay Purdon of milkandcotten.tumblr.com. Also I still had my afro the which is now hidden by my braids. Being that it was a week day I wanted to be casual and comfortable so this is what I wore:

Sol-Angel

Solange Knowles is a woman who needs no introduction, she has stunned the world over with her eccentric yet sophisticated fashion sense- fashion forward but classic. Her star has risen significantly over the last two years and it seems we've never looked back. She is personally one of my favourite style icons and I admire the way in which she takes risks with prints and retro silhouettes. What makes her stand out above the crowd is that she is unlike anyone else, she has created her own signature looks and is setting major trends. From the afro(hair) to tribal prints, she has caught the eye of many fashion designers as well as magazine editors- even having a photo blog for Vogue magazine. Her latest musical work "TRUE" (released in November last year)which is an E.P she released last year has also been garnering attention for her. Her music has a characteristic smooth soul acoustic sound infused with electro pop and accurately reflects her work as a singer/songwriter. Her quirky nature definitely comes out through her bold fashion choices and whether she's on stage, making a red carpet appearance or sitting front row at a fashion show, she always turns heads.  Here are some of my favourite looks from her from the past 2 years:
