BOY LONDON

The story of BOY Founded by Stephane Raynor in 1976.

From Warhol, to Madonna, Punks through to New Romantics, club kids to fashionistas as well as big superstars such as Rihanna, have all worn BOY. Adopted as the uniform of choice for every youth movement that has mattered, the brand has outlived them all, the unmistakable spirit that borught BOY its success is still alive today
Before BOY, Stephane the owner, had been selling 50s clothing to influentials in fashion. This hows that he had already had a great flare for clothing and design. passion for the brand amongst those versed in its history kept the label alive throughout the nineties. In second hand stores and charity shops the world over, original BOY pieces became the most fetishised of finds. Then, in 2007 rumours began to circulate that the legendary label was returning.
Sure enough, Stephane’s latest venture, a store named SICK (located on Redchuch Street in the heart of East London), soon emerged and with it came the relaunch of BOY. The shop has seen international success now, even finding some of the items in local stores. It's amazing what a dream can make you do. For me, personally it's the boldness and chicness of the label, it doesn't scream too loud but it demands an aesthetic attention. It has an trademark underground feel and one can't help but feel like a rebel when you won one of their pieces.

Denim on Denim

I'm yet to see a day when Rihanna doesn't get it right. She can basically take any garment and make it look amazing. In this denim on denim ensemble, Riri takes us back in this retro 90's inspired look. These are personal pictures which a friend took of her whilst she was out and about in the city. She's sporting a cut-out denim crop top, jeans and gold mini- platform creepers and my does she look trendy. She's also done some major cool accessorizing with the snapback cap and the tinted mauve glasses. I love it.

Here comes the queen... Rih!

Hello blogosphere people :)

MY FIRST POST, WOW. So after having signed for blogger back in 2011, I finally decided that I would stop putting it off and actually start using it.(In my defense, I do think a year and a half was more than enough time to come up with the courage to use this space). I guess I needed time to grow out of my introverted little box and find my own voice and what better way to start than to create a post about my all time favourite star/obsession Rihanna. Just that name sparks off a whole range of images and ideas hopefully all centered around her ever-rising star and staying power. To put it blankly, she's a rock star and needs no introduction, with successful world tours, Grammys and 7 albums(her latest one being Unapologetic) under her belt at the age of 24, it's safe to say that Robyn Rihanna Fenty is the oh so cool queen of pop. I recently bought the May issue of Elle magazine South Africa which features a high fashion yet quirky spread of her and let's us in on what she's really about. The photo spread features her in clothing by Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton and Prada and the photographs were take by Mariano Vivanco- nothing but the best for the queen, right? This woman is undeniably beautiful and one can't help but marvel at her success, style and charm and how she still manages to stay close to her fans. I cannot wait for her Diamonds World Tour concert in October, seems the title of this post is quite fitting seeing that it will Rihanna's first touring visit to South Africa. Rihanna Navy Get Ready :)
Here are some of my favourite pictures from the Elle spread . Enjoy.
